In late December 2010, the Department of Health (DH) proposed the launch of a new dental pilot contract for use within England. The aim of the new pilot is to ensure that dentists will be paid for the quality of the treatment they give rather than the number of treatments provided.
During the initial planning stages of the pilot, only three companies were asked to undertake the software development work required
for the new contract. Dentsys are proud to announce that we are one of those three chosen companies.
When asked about the inclusion of Dentsys in the pilot scheme, Gordon Flint, Managing Director of Dentsys said "We are delighted
to be involved in the pilot scheme and feel it reflects our increasing stature within the dental market".
Work began straight away on the planning of the new Care Pathway model changes. Whilst being conscious that more detailed examinations would be required to incorporate the new criteria of the pilot, we felt the implementation of the changes would have to be as quick, smooth and easy to use as possible. The final accepted design allows for the collection of the new pilot requirements in a fast, efficient and easy to follow manner - minimising the disruption to the practice.
After thousands of hours of development, we are now in a position to announce that the new software changes are complete. From week commencing 27th June 2011, our pilot practices will begin to be upgraded and trained by our fully qualified, friendly installation team.
